In 1957, Lotus came with their first famous car. The Lotus Seven remained one of the brand successes until 1973, when the model was conceded to Caterham, which still produces the car today.
The concept of the Lotus Seven comes from the racing track and terrain race experience, where the cars from this small producer would roam. Its size, weight and very low center of gravity provided excellent riding stability.
Before Lotus introduced the Elan, the Elite opened the way to a series of fascinating small sports cars with excellent performance. The second bearer of this name, the Elite II was introduced in 1974 as a coupe with 2 + 2 seats.
Lotus, which succeeded with the Lotus Seven, was also successful with its compact and light Elan, backbone type of frame, and polyester body. The models of the nineteen-nineties are somewhat less fascinating.
